Start Here: Create and Share Your First Event
New store on Game Haven Guild? This is the fast path from an empty calendar to a promoted event. Five steps: create the event, let the website do its thing, connect Discord, set up your LInkpage and post the news. Most of the setup is one-time — after that, promoting an event takes minutes.
Step 1 — Create the Event
From your Store Dashboard, open Events and tap Create New Event.
The short version:
Event Name — keep it punchy and searchable ("Friday Night Magic," "Open Board Game Sunday").
Description — your marketing pitch: format, what to bring, skill level welcome.
Entry Fee — set a price or mark it Free. With Stripe payments enabled, gamers pay through secure checkout before their spot is confirmed.
Prizes — be specific. Store credit, booster packs, "None" — prizes drive registrations.
Game & Format — pick a game to auto-fill categories, and a format (Draft, Commander, Open Play) so gamers know exactly what they're walking into.
Date & Times — the picker respects your store's operating hours and your timezone.
Recurring — for a weekly or monthly series, flip on recurring and generate up to 12 occurrences at once. Each one stays individually editable.
For the full field-by-field walkthrough, see the Event Guide.
Step 2 — Share on Your Store's Website (One-Time Setup)
You can put your Game Haven Guild calendar directly on your own website — it stays live forever, updating itself every time you create or change an event. Do this once in Store Dashboard → Advanced Settings → Web Integrations:
Open the Iframe Integrations section. You'll find ready-made embed blocks, each with a Preview link and a Copy button.
Copy the calendar embed. Two layouts are available:
Public Calendar (list view) — your events in a clean scrollable list, height 625px.
Public Calendar (grid view) — a full monthly-style calendar grid, height 850px.
Paste it into your website — add the copied <iframe> snippet to any page, post, or sidebar in your site's editor (Shopify, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, custom HTML — anywhere HTML goes). The embed is 100% wide, so it fits whatever container you place it in.
Review and adjust. Click the Preview link to see exactly what your visitors will see, and tweak the iframe's height in the snippet if the layout needs it.
Once the snippet is on your site, there's nothing to maintain: every event you publish in the app appears on your website automatically — new events, edits, and cancellations included. Registration happens right in the embed, so your website visitors never have to leave your site to sign up. If you want your website visitors in your app audience too, add your store's Link Page URL as a "View Full Calendar & Register" link next to the embed.
Step 3 — Share to Discord (One-Time Setup)
The big one. Set it up once in Store Dashboard → Advanced Settings → Discord Event Calendar and Roles, and every event publishes itself.
Add the GHG Bot — tap Add Bot on the Integrations page. In the Discord authorization screen, keep Create Events, Manage Events, and Manage Roles enabled, then authorize.
Paste your Server ID — in Discord, go to Server Settings, enable Developer Mode, right-click your server name, and Copy Server ID. Paste it into the Server ID field.
Turn on Event Sync — from now on, your GHG events appear as Scheduled Events in your server's event list. Changes to an event sync instantly, and a daily 9:00 AM sweep adds anything entering the window and cleans up ended or cancelled events.
Pick your window — choose how far out to sync: 1, 2, or 4 weeks.
That's it — Discord's event list now mirrors your store calendar forever.
Step 4 — Set Up Your Store Linkpage (One-Time Setup)
The app generates a public website for your store automatically — your calendar, events, and details all live there. Do this setup once in Store Dashboard → Advanced Settings → Linkpage, and everything you publish from now on flows to it:
Pick your URL slug — choose the tail end of your store's web address (e.g., gamehavenguild.app/red-dragon-games). This is the link you share everywhere: bios, flyers, Discord welcome channels.
Switch on your predefined links — the page picks up Website, Discord, eBay Store, and TCG Player from your store profile automatically; turn on the ones you've filled in.
Add custom links — anything else your community needs: external registration pages, league sign-up forms, your online store, socials. Give each a title and URL.
Style the buttons — set the background and text colors of your link buttons to match your brand.
Finish your profile — in Profile Configuration, double-check your hours, address, logo, and photos; your public calendar uses your timezone and closing hours to schedule and display events correctly.
Step 5 — Post It as News
When the event deserves a push, publish it as a News post: from your Store Dashboard, open the News section and create a new post.
Title & content — the announcement of the event: what, when, why to show up.
Attach an image — upload your flyer, or tap the calendar image generator to auto-generate a shareable graphic from the event's own details.
Tag the game — tag the event's game and category so the post filters correctly in the feed.
Then share it, two ways:
Automated, one tap — every news post card shows Discord and Bluesky buttons. Tap and the post publishes straight from our server into your connected Discord channel or Bluesky account — you never leave the app. Set each connection up once in Store Dashboard → Advanced Settings → Social Connections:
Discord channel — paste a Discord channel webhook URL (Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook → Copy Webhook URL) and announcements can post to that channel.
Bluesky — enter your handle and an app password (Bluesky → Settings → App Passwords) and announcements publish as your store on AT Protocol.
Manual, full control — each post also has manual share buttons for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, plus a one-tap Copy of the post text and a download of the post image. Post natively wherever you want with the same copy and artwork.
